Handler Trainer Overview
If you plan on training your own Service Dog, Our Service Dog Training School will help guide you through the process.

By completing the Basic Foundation Skills course, your dog will acquire foundational behaviors necessary for his work as a Service Dog. He will also be able to complete tasks tailored to various disabilities. Your dog will learn to have good manners in public, and also to conduct himself in a way that will allow him to keep his attention on his Service Dog Work. We will show you how to teach your dog to help you deal with your life challenges, and with the “Sullivan method” of training, he will “learn how to learn,” which will make your job of continuing his training even easier!
Our program offers a step-by-step approach to training your Service Dog which is supplemented by personalized support from your assigned trainer. You will typically connect with your trainer online daily as you progress through the textbook (included with the course) and other online resources. A workbook will also be provided to help you track your progress and maintain a detailed record of your training history. Your trainer will request videos demonstrating your lessons with your Service Dog in Training and will offer specific feedback to help refine your technique. Additionally, you will have direct access to your trainer for any questions you may have. Upon successfully completing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
When does the course start? Since we will be working with you on an individual basis, the course begins when you are ready!
